The film starred James Brolin as the town sheriff was played by James Brolin. The film concerns the existence of a demonic black limousine which terrorised the residents of an American suburban town. The film was called 'The Car' and can be only described as a cross between 'The Exorcist' and 'Jaws'. (It was compared to 'Jaws' because of the way it approaches its victims; the viewer is placed in the front seat looking at the victim through the black-tinted windscreen...as if it is YOU who is driving the car). I saw this film when I was probably 7, (1977). The film was aired late at night on ITV but alas this film has never been released either on terrestrial tv or on video ever again.
